You have made the choice to change your life and begin a new journey to optimal health! Some of you are facing cancer, some of you are doing MBC to gain insights to help your spouse or an aging parent, still others of you have been in pain everyday or are just tired of being tired.
Whether you hope for weight loss, reduction of chronic pain or inflammation, or just to find renewed energy to chase after your favorite little people or get through the work week–MBC will take discipline, a willingness to educate yourself about better choices, and eight weeks of creating new habits. But its worth it!
During our first meeting together, we discovered the importance of balancing our blood, brain, and body systems. You enter MBC through one of three doors: impending Death, Disgust with current pain or energy level, or desire for Discovery and knowledge about how to live a healthier life. You will leave MBC through one of two doors: Discipline to live well or Desire that ensures discipline when life brings challenges.
Here is our battle plan:
- READ: about genetic cracks, epigenetic errors, as well as mental and metabolic glitches
- REDUCE: brain chatter, body pain, body acids, body fat, blood sugar, viral loads
- RESTORE: sleep patterns, hormonal balance, bone/brain/muscle density, and proper digestive/bowel function.
- RESIST: cancer, cardiac disease, dementia, depression, arthritis, accelerated aging, and viral bacterial yeast infections
Knowing our bodies’ susceptibilities and genetic weaknesses, becoming aware of how our brains process and ways to optimize function, and becoming more aware of our blood sugar levels and metabolic type will help us each better address our unique needs. As we begin detox we will cleanse our bodies. In the weeks to come we will discover the fuel that best suits each of us to reduce pain and feel more energetic!
So where to begin? There are a few tasks to complete in your MBC workbook. First we must look into our Metabolic Mirror and identify the cracks in our genetic foundations as well as the glitches in our mental and metabolic machinery. Take some time to consider these with a close family member and some childhood and recent photos of yourself.
- Order recommended labs and consider meeting with your health care provider to request blood panels.
- Secure your Survival Kit in dry, cool storage.
- Purge toxins from your home and medicine cabinet. See MBC WorkBook
- Check your water supply for purity.
- Prepare your bootcamp toothpaste.
- Evaluate your bottles and choose type 2, 4, or 5
- Post your metabolic mirror checklist and MBC Bio Tracker and get ready to GO to work immediately upon rising!
- Familiarize yourself with the recipes in week 1 and the signs of food related toxicity. (Consider slipping your detox shopping list and recipes into clear plastic sleeves within the notebook as you will reference them often as you go through MBC.)
- Head to the grocery store with your Detox Week 1 Shopping List! The more you can prepare ahead, the greater your chances for success day to day!
- Set aside some time to prepare a large batch of Triple Burner Soup, make wraps a day or two ahead of time, and set out the oatmeal ingredients the night before for a quick start in the mornings. Having one cabinet dedicated to your supplies, blends, and supplements will ease the transition into this new program. Even if your spouse or family aren’t joining you in MBC, you can prepare oatmeal and tasty wraps for everyone assembly line style, skipping the hot/spicy for little ones. Consider preparing a large crockpot meal or pot of soup ahead of time as well for non bootcampers to enjoy while you eat your asparagus or Triple Burner Soup in the evenings. Moms of kids may wish to plan some child friendly quick menu ideas for the next few weeks while you stick to your boot camp protocols. Keep it simple and don’t feel guilty to spend a bit of time doing a few things just for you during the MBC process. You will learn many things that can benefit your loved ones too.
