Caffeine, coffee, and low sugar energy drinks will be linked to mid-line fat accumulation(female/male) and reduction in sex drive(male/female). WOW…did I just make a lot of people mad.

I can just hear it now….What about the Ice coffee Inferno you promote Dr. Baader?….what about green coffee extract claiming weight loss factors?. Hey, what can I say…we were wrong.

Daily exposure to caffeine products will be found to disrupt both dopamine and serotonin levels in our brains. Dopamine gives us drive( both sexual & work), energy, focus, and suppresses our appetites. Low serotonin levels are linked to compulsive behavior, deep depression and over eating.

What a terrible combination. Caffeine will also be linked to the crashing of our thyroid glands by causing the over-stimulation of our adrenal glands. Chronic caffeine consumers(exposure for longer than 14 days) will become fatigued, fat, and mentally fried.

Here are the 7 reason why I believe energy drinks and coffee will make the user fat, fatigued, and mentally and metabolically fried with regular consumption( 3 to 5 cups per week).

1.The average pH of a sugar free energy drink is 2.8 (examples Kick start Spark 3.3, Monster 2.7 red Bull 3.3)

Here’s a quick review MBCers: the oral cavity and regional lymph glands of a cancer-resistant cadet is 6.8-7.2. Above this range(above 8.0) will lead to thrush, yeast and bacterial overgrowth. Any reading below this optimal range( below 6.0) with lead to acidogenesis sufficient to cause extensive demineralization of tooth tissues, inflamed mucous and suppression of thyroid function. This alone is a recipe for non-caloric weight gain syndrome and we have not even touch on the subject of adrenal fatigue, cortisol release, sleep disruption, and excessive mid-line weight gain.

2.Synthetic caffeine used in Energy drinks comes from a molecule found in human urine

The process to create the ‘spark” in these drinks takes place in a lab or a factory and involves the chemical synthesis of urea (also known as carbamide) which is a waste product of many living organisms , and is the major organic component of human urine.

When the process is complete the caffeine created is a very pure isolate that is highly concentrated. Caffeine made in this way is absorbed and processed quickly in the digestive system, which is why consuming products containing synthetic caffeine generally results in a very sharp increase in energy and the all-to-common “crash” reported by so many drinkers. At MBC we call this crash the cost of using “dirty energy” .

3. Caffeine leads to impulsive brain chemistry

Recently, a well known neuro-psychiatrist performed a brain scan on a talk show host after the talk show host’s intake of a vaporized form of caffeine. The scan revealed that his pre-frontal lobe was dramatically reduced in function . So what? Our pre-frontal lobe keeps the impulsive portions of our brain from overwhelming the conscious self. With a low functioning pre-frontal lobe we would throw our discipline and diets out the window and gorge ourselves on our favorite delicacies, in this morally suppressed neurological state we are much prone to cheat on our significant other, and WOW talk about brain fog and loss of focus when our pre -frontal lobes are down!

Some of you, like myself, my have felt “wired” when we first drank coffee or a stimulant drink and loved the powerful focus and intensity it gave us….and if we stopped at the first couple doses of this drug everything would have been fine. Here’s the problem. It turns out caffeine is an addictive substance and with prolonged exposure(14 days or more) ends up crashing our brain chemistry, frying our adrenals, and after a period of time crashing our sex lives and filling on mid drifts full of filthy fat.

Did you ever notice that you need more and more caffeine to get the same response you got from your first hit…oh I mean drink? After a period of time the caffeine consumer can actually feel even more exhausted after drinking the same coffee that once made them feel wired and on fire. What’s that all about? It’s evidence of adrenal fatigue and cortisol receptor site attenuation. That’s really bad news for your brain and waist line.

4.Caffeine causing Cortisol Catastoph

Here’s a fact: cortisol, the stress hormone, is released after consuming coffee whether you’re under mental stress or not, according to a study published in the February 2008 edition of “Psychosomatic Medicine”. Cortisol production is naturally high in the early morning, around 8:00 a.m. because one of its functions is to help you rise and shine for the day. People who chronically stress their adrenal glands to overproduce cortisol change their cortisol concentrations so that it’s low instead of high when they wake up in the morning. This phenomenon occurs because of what is know as down-regulation and cortisol recepetor site attenuation.

Of course, then they reach for a cup of coffee to artificially spike their cortisol levels again. These same people experience huge cortisol surges at meals, which causes them to overeat. They, in turn, wind up with higher body fat, lower muscle mass, and a reduced metabolism so they burn fewer calories. They don’t sleep well at night because elevated cortisol levels keep them from entering stage 4 sleep, which is the deep rebuild-and-repair sleep your body needs to feel rejuvenated and rested.Ladies, listen to this one.

How about skin aging and wrinkling? Caffeine dehydrates the body and elevates cortisol levels. This leads to dehydrated skin and premature wrinkling.Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine shows that low to moderate caffeine intake (as little as one 14-ounce mug per day) can quickly produce withdrawal symptoms,” writes Cherniske. Yes, caffeine is a drug, even though it’s something that you ingested in your beloved chocolate bars and colas since early childhooduncontrolled neuron firing creates an emergency situation, which triggers the pituitary gland in the brain to secrete ACTH (adrenocorticotrophic hormone). ACTH tells the adrenal glands to pump out stress hormones—the next major side effect of caffeine.

5. Caffeine is Anxiety Activating

Caffeine increases the stimulating neurohormone, noradrenaline, and reduces the calming neurotransmitter, serotonin Caffeine also stimulates the production of norepinephrine, another stress hormone that acts directly on the brain and nervous system. Epinephrine and norepinephrine are responsible for increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and that “emergency” feeling.

Caffeine the stress response in motion, causing tense muscles, elevated blood sugar, and increased pulse and respiration. You may feel mentally sharper because your brain is high on adrenaline. It’s ready to rumble….but not for long.

One cup of coffee for most people isn’t damaging. But as you may recall from our discussion in our Metabolic Boot Camp program, if stress hormones remain elevated, the body is thrown into a state of chronic stress. By sipping on coffee, tea, or caffeinated soda all day long, you are forcing your adrenal glands to continue to pump out stress hormones.

Initially, caffeine may lower blood sugar; however, this can lead to increased hunger or cravings for sweets. After adrenal stimulation, blood sugar rises again. Caffeine also increases respiratory rates, and for people with tight airways, it can open breathing passages. Caffeine is also a diuretic and a mild laxative.

Caffeine can have a detrimental effect on blood sugar. When caffeine is ingested, the nervous system is stimulated. Adrenaline is released and, in turn, the liver begins to emit stored blood sugar. Insulin is then released, and blood sugar drops below normal—a common seizure trigger for people with epilepsy. Caffeine can also constrict blood vessels in the brain. It is important for people with epilepsy to know that caffeine can be an ingredient in medications, including some antihistamines and decongestants.

It is also interesting to note that several studies have found caffeine intake to be extremely high in individuals with psychiatric disorders. Another interesting finding is that the degree of fatigue experienced is often related to the quantity of caffeine ingested. In one survey of hospitalized psychiatric patients, 61% of those ingesting at least 750 mg/day (at least five cups of coffee) complained of fatigue, compared with 54% of those ingesting 250-749 mg/day, and only 24% of those ingesting less than 250 mg/day.

6. Caffeine Causing IBS

The sympathetic stimulation that caffeine causes leads to a reflexive emptying of the bowels. This may seem like a great thing for a constipated Accumulator, but for us drained Dumpers this is a devastating side effect of a cup of coffee or low sugar energy drink.

7. Caffeine linked to Addiction Relapse

If you have suffered from substance abuse in the past never consume caffeine. It leads to the same agitated brain environment that lead you into your addiction in the first place. Please heed my warning if you have abused drugs or alcohol in the past when it comes to ingesting products with caffeine in them.
